Meet and Connect throughout Europe
Networking remains a cornerstone of the Friends of ERA. Since 2014, national chapters in various member states have organised events. The currently active ones are in Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, and the UK hosting regular events, both online and in-person, assembling legal professionals from different fields to discuss current issues in EU law. While each chapter has coordinators who take the lead in organising events for members of their chapter, all Friends of ERA are welcome to participate in any chapter event.
Launched in 2023, the Young Friends chapter offers early-career legal professionals the chance to stay in touch with the Academy of European Law and to support ERA’s work in a dynamic space, fostering connections made at ERA and encouraging new ones with other young professionals. It also opens the opportunity to connect and engage with national chapters through tailored events and joint initiatives.
Each chapter is coordinated by an appointed Chapter Coordinator, supported by the Friends of ERA Secretariat. Coordinators propose and implement their own initiatives, in consultation with the Board, ensuring they complement ERA’s work without overlapping with its activities. Chapter events are self-financed through participant contributions or sponsorships.
