On Friday 11 October, the Portuguese Chapter kicked off the weekend with a wine tasting and dinner.
The Wine Experience Museum is part of the huge cultural WOW district in the historic heart of Vila Nova de Gaia, which celebrates Portugal’s culture, history and main industries. This spacious open-air square is based on a vantage point overlooking the Douro River and Porto’s waterfront. The visit concluded with a wine workshop on ‚How to taste wine‘. It was a journey of the senses, with various tastings and flavour tests and, of course, an extraordinary view of the historic centre of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, declared a World Heritage Site in 1996.
After the private tour, all the Friends had dinner at the O Terreiro restaurant.
The excellent seafood and good wine helped to ensure a good quality time together, getting to know each other and chatting and sharing with the local legal community.
There was also a special guest on board for the evening. Jettie Van Caenegem, the charwoman of the Friends of ERA Association, flew in from Belgium to meet and greet our Portuguese lawyers.
Obrigada and cheers to all who attended and to Carlos de Almeida Lemos, our Portuguese Chapter Coordinator, for making this event a success. We look forward to the next one!
