The first event of the German Chapter of the Friends of ERA for this year was kicked off with the visit to the European Space Agency (ESA) in Darmstadt on Friday 10 March 2023.
The guided tour of ESA included a short introduction film and a visit of ESOC’s operations facilities as well as the Main Control Room (MCR). Participants could also take a look at the Rosetta engineering model and further mission specific control rooms.
The event concluded over an after-ESA-drink at the VINOCENTRAL where the Friends had the opportunity to enjoy cheerful talks over a glass of crémant, some finger food and pleasant company.
The event was made possible thanks to Prof. Ulrich Rommelfanger, the coordinator of the German Chapter of the Friends of ERA and we were happy to welcome 15 members who joined the event.
